Pesticides
The term pesticide (pestis = plague; concido = destruction) means a chemical or biological substance produced for the control of pests, weeds and diseases, primarily in the production of food. Pesticide residues are understood to be extremely small amounts of active substances, which are most commonly expressed in milligrams per kilogram of food in which they are found.
